(MAY 13, 2002)…San Antonio, TX - Rio Design announced today the launch of a
new brand identity for Technology Advocates of San Antonio (TASA), a
non-profit organization dedicated to promoting and developing technology
based initiatives in San Antonio.
In an effort to help promote San Antonio as an emerging leader in
information technology, biotechnology and telecommunications, Rio Design
donated the design and production of TASA’s new identity including a logo
and informational brochure.
Philip D. Freeman, TASA president said, “We are grateful to Rio Design for
their work on this project. Developing a professional identity is a costly
proposition and Rio made a sizeable contribution in support of our economic
and community development efforts.”
John Tafolla, president of Rio Design unveiled the new logo last month at
the TASA meeting at the University of the Incarnate Word.
“The logo design was developed not only to increase name recognition, but
also to visually reflect the goal of the organization to make San Antonio
synonymous with the word technology,” Tafolla said.
He added, “We donated our services because we believe there is a synergy
between the missions of our organizations—Rio Design, like TASA, is an
organization dedicated to serving the best interest of the local community.”
Rio Design Marketing Strategist, Jim Brazell introduced the idea to board
members Mike Lambers and Malcolm Coon earlier this year and explained the
importance of the collaboration.
“We believe that San Antonio is a world-class community and that the
resources to establish high-paying jobs and a robust market are a function
of marketing a new vision for the city locally, regionally and nationally,”
said Brazell.
